“One of the things that has particularly impressed me is the professors’ genuine attempt to have us read through the eyes of the authors. They want us to truly see the authors’ intent, without projecting our own immediate prejudices on the subject. Rather than pushing their own opinions, they encourage us to extract everything we can from the texts, engaging our minds to be open to truth while retaining a healthy critical analysis of the subject at hand.”

Sandra grew up in Virginia and graduated from Thomas More College of Liberal Arts in New Hampshire with a degree in Classical Liberal Arts. After graduation, she worked as the Deputy Operations Manager at the American Principles Project, a conservative think-tank based in Washington, D.C. While she was there, Sandra had the opportunity to meet several Hillsdale associates and alumni, until a current graduate student convinced her to apply for the Van Andel School of Statesmanship. Upon graduation, she hopes to return to D.C. to get involved in policy work, particularly focusing on protecting the family and parental rights.
