“The focus on first principles at Hillsdale in an environment of open discourse allows for investigation into the truth that isn’t stunted by ideology.”
There were several factors that drew me to Hillsdale. The first was the high number of incredible faculty concentrated at Hillsdale, and the ability for students to really get to know their faculty and work closely with them, something that is much more difficult at larger universities. Additionally, the focus on first principles at Hillsdale paired with the emphasis on primary texts in an environment of open discourse is something highly appealing, and becoming more rare. It truly allows for investigation into the truth that isn’t stunted by ideology.
